Unique Sports Group are proud to share the news that Maxwel Cornet has signed for West Ham United.
Maxwel has signed a five-year deal with the Irons, with the option of a further year.
The 25-year-old joined Burnley from Olympique Lyonnais in August 2021 and despite a successful debut season in England – during which he scored nine times in 26 Premier League appearances – he was ultimately unsuccessful in his attempts to keep the Clarets in the top flight.
He now joins David Moyes’ ranks at the London Stadium, after sealing a £17.5m move that was enabled by the activation of a release clause in his contract.
Prior to joining Burnley, Maxwel made his name on the continent with Metz and Lyon, scoring 51 goals in 252 appearances for the latter.
Speaking after completing his switch to West Ham, Maxwel said:
“It’s a new step for me to join this big Club and I’m really happy to be here, to be part of the project for the Club. I’m just excited to start.
“Everyone knows the level here in the Premier League is very high and I want to play here for that, so I’m really happy to be here for the next stage in my career.
“It will be amazing to play in front of 62,500 fans at London Stadium. I played here for Burnley last season and I can’t wait to experience it as a West Ham player.”
Everyone at Unique wishes Maxwel the very best with the next chapter of his career.
