“It all started back when I was babysitting Jamaal!”
Not everybody’s babysitter goes on to become a NBA champion – but for Jamaal Lascelles and his older brother Rema, that’s exactly what happened.
Nick Nurse – 2019 NBA Champion and 2020 NBA Coach of the Year – is the head coach of the Toronto Raptors and even coached the 2020 All-Star Game.
But long before that he played the role of babysitter for the Lascelles during their formative years, due to his long-standing friendship with Jamaal’s dad Tim.
Tim, himself a British Basketball legend owing to a three-decade long association with Derby’s professional basketball team, first met Nurse in 1990 and their friendship has stood the test of time.
Now, for the very first time, they tell their incredible family story – with the help of Nick, who joins them direct from Toronto’s training facility.
