We are proud to welcome Dayot Upamecano to the Unique family.
A formidable defender who needs little by way of introduction, Dayot is set to begin his second season with Bayern Munich and is a full France international.
After making his senior debut with RB Salzburg’s farm team Liefering in 2015, Dayot pushed on in the 2016/17 campaign to become a regular in the Austrian Bundesliga and the Europa League.
A move to RB Leipzig followed in January 2017, where Dayot would remain for five seasons, clocking up 154 appearances and forging a reputation as a rising star of European football.
His France debut followed, with Didier Deschamps putting him in the starting lineup for a UEFA Nations League group stage game against Sweden in September 2020. France won the game 1-0.
Three days later he scored his first international goal, as France registered a 4-2 win over Croatia.
Following repeated links to Europe’s elite clubs, Dayot finally departed Leipzig in 2021, after Bayern Munich activated his release clause at a cost of over 40 million Euros.
To-date, Dayot has lifted the 2021/22 Bundesliga title, as well as the DFL-Supercup – while also winning the UEFA Nations League with France in 2020/21.
